After reading about the Virtual Concert Contest by the Squidoo Activists my first reaction was to pass it off. I’m swamped with urgent matters all vying for my attention. Yet the seed was planted, and within an hour or so the music that has been playing in my head since the day I was born was getting louder than the call of duty.
Oh well, just my luck that The Beatles are just about the most talked and written about rock group of all time. What could I possibly contribute that has not already been rehashed a hundred times over by minds far more brilliant than mine?
But hey, it was going to be a virtual concert, it could be anything I wanted. And like probably most of my comrades, it pains me that we will never see The Beatles come together for a real concert this side of eternity. What’s more, January 30, 2009, will mark the 40th anniversary of the Beatles’ final live performance, the famous Rooftop Concert atop their Apple Corp. building in London’s Savile Row. So, there it was; my contribution to the Virtual Concert Series: The Last Beatles Concert EVER!
I hope many fans will join me in celebrating and remembering all the joy and emotions The Beatles have brought to our lives.
Holy Chopper! The OCC Pope John Paul II Tribute Bike is up for grabs on eBay!
I recently saw someone post in the Squidu forum, who wondered whether or not to delete a non-performing lens. I can relate. My OCC lens has been at or near the bottom of my pit for a long time. It wasn’t as cool as it is now, and I wasn’t really proud of it enough to promote it either. I just didn’t connect with this lens, if you know what I mean.
So not too long ago I thought it would be best to set it free. As if the frightened little lens sensed what I was up to, all of a sudden I had a noticeable spike in traffic. Just when I thought nobody except me thought that OCC choppers are the coolest motorcycles ever the lens came about. I was immediately inspired to give my visitors a lens worthy of their time, and went to work.
With my newfound enthusiasm, the lensrank kept creeping up up up. I got some nice comments and ratings, and somebody I don’t even know stumbled it. Wow!
Bottom line: Don’t delete under-performers unless it’s a topic you’d be ashamed to be associated with. It’s just sitting quietly until it’s moment has come. Wait until it gets some traffic and analyze the keywords people were searching for when they came to your lens. Then go to work and over-deliver! Voila! A new starlet is born!
This morning I was thrilled out of my jammies to find my Orange County Choppers lens at Lensrank #798 overall and #12 in Autos (that category should really be renamed into Motors or something similar)!
This is a big boost to my lensmastering morale. Ok, so I made Giant Squid status this month, which means I have produced over 50 quality lenses. I’ve also had a very successful top lens, but would you believe, this is only the second lens I have ever managed to get into the the magical 3 digit lensrank?
Yeah baby, this sure made my day!
This experience led me to my next post “To delete or not to delete…”
The foreclosure process is part of the real estate market. This lens will focus on the steps involved during foreclosure proceedings, and will outline sources for real estate investors wishing to buy foreclosures.
Quebec City or Québec (French: Ville de Québec, or simply Québec) is the capital of the Canadian province of Quebec. It is the second largest city in the province, after Montreal. Quebec’s Old Town (Vieux-Québec), the only North American fortified city north of Mexico whose walls still exist, was declared a World Heritage Site by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) in 1985 as the "Historic District of Old Quebec". It is also one of the oldest cities in North America. The city has a population of 528,595, and the metropolitan area has a population of 717,600 (2005). Quebec City is known for its Winter Carnival and the Château Frontenac, a historic hotel which dominates the city skyline. The National Assembly of Quebec (provincial parliament), the Musée national des beaux-arts du Québec (National Museum of Fine Arts) and the Museum of Civilization are found within or near Vieux-Québec. Among the tourist attractions in the city are Montmorency Falls and the Basilica of Sainte-Anne-de-Beaupré in the town of Beaupré. Wikipedia

Companies around the globe rely on consumer feedback to develop products that sell. Retailers need to measure customer satisfaction to improve their margins and defend or increase their market share. And they are willing to pay for it. If you have a bit of time to spare, have a computer with internet access, and are comfortable with sharing and expressing your opinion, then taking paid surveys online may be a fun, easy and rewarding source of (extra) income. I have been filling out surveys for a number of years and am ready to share my experience with you and help you steer clear of scams and time thieves. Anybody interested in this approach to make some extra cash on the web with market research is invited to exchange ideas and experiences here.
Orange County Choppers (OCC) is a custom motorcycle manufacturer founded by Paul Teutul, Sr. and Paul Teutul, Jr. in 1999. The company is featured on American Chopper, a reality TV show that debuted in September 2002 on the Discovery Channel, which has contributed to the company’s quick rise to fame. In 2007, Discovery Channel’s sister channel TLC took over the broadcasting.
Oktoberfest 2008 season is heading our way! Having lived many years in Munich myself, I found that the Oktoberfest is an inescapable reality you can either love or hate. It celebrates Bavarian tradition like no other single event.
On the other hand it is the perfectly acceptable excuse for party animals from all over the world to convene in Bavaria’s capital and drink as much beer as they can (afford) before they pass out. But there’s more to the Oktoberfest than excessive alcoholism. Everybody who has joined the madness at least once in their life and survived will have their own personal memories to pass on to the next generation. Oans, Zwoa, Drei, G’suffa! (The battle cry of Bavarian beer drinkers) P.S.: With the unveiling of this year’s colorful motif, preparations for Oktoberfest 2008 in Munich, the 175th Oktoberfest anniversary, have officially begun. Time to finalize your travel plans! For tips and ideas I hope you will find inspiration in this lens!
